Dominic Moraca joue de la guitare à Montréal depuis 30 ans. Ses styles de guitare préférés sont le jazz et le classique. En grandissant à Montréal, ses influences en matière de guitare étaient les guitaristes de jazz Nelson Symonds, qui était un habitué du Rockhead's Paradise, le cousin de Nelson, Ivan Symonds, qui jouait dans son propre bar de jazz sur la rue Ontario, et Mike Gauthier, un grand musicien, professeur et mentor. à tous les guitaristes de jazz de Montréal. Pendant son adolescence, il a étudié avec Mike et aussi avec Dave Clarke. « Dave jouait beaucoup de guitare acoustique, mais il jouait aussi de la très bonne guitare jazz. Il jouait très bien les progressions d’accords et avec goût, et c’est pourquoi j’ai pris des cours avec lui. Dominic aime jouer principalement en trio avec contrebasse et batterie. Il est titulaire d'un baccalauréat en musique de l'Université McGill où il a étudié la guitare avec Alvaro Pierri.
Dominic Moraca has been playing guitar in Montreal for the past 30 years. His favorite guitar styles are jazz and classical. While growing up in Montreal his guitar influences were jazz guitarists Nelson Symonds, who was a regular at Rockhead’s Paradise, Nelson’s cousin Ivan Symonds, who played at his own jazz bar on Ontario St., and Mike Gauthier, a great musician, teacher and mentor to all jazz guitarists in Montreal. While in his teens he studied with Mike and also with Dave Clarke. “ Dave played lots of acoustic guitar, but he also played great jazz guitar. He played chord progressions very well and tastefully, and that’s why I took lessons with him.” Dominic enjoys playing mostly in a trio format with double bass and drums. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University where he studied guitar with Alvaro Pierri.
